Official Rules & Regulations
Overview
ImmersiBeats is a multi-round DJ competition combining online submissions with a live semifinal and final event. The competition is a family-friendly, community-focused fundraising event presented by the Bill Carroll Foundation.
Eligibility
Open to DJs of all ages

Amateur and professional DJs are eligible
-
Open-format competition – all genres allowed
-
DJs may only compete once per competition cycle
-
DJs must have the legal right to perform and submit mixes

DJs Under 18:

Must have written parental or guardian consent
-
Must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at the live semifinal/final event​

Entry & Submission Fees
-
Initial submission is FREE
-
DJs accepted into the Preliminary Round must pay a $25 submission fee
-
The fee secures the DJ’s spot and activates voting eligibility
-
Fees are non-refundable
-
Failure to pay by the deadline results in forfeiture of the spot

Must see the DJ's face so we can match who's doing the actual mixing. Don't forget to show the decks as well so voters can see AND hear the magic and watch the mixing.

Bracket Structure
-
Up to 32 DJs compete in online preliminaries (16) under 18, (16) 18+

Up to 16 DJs compete in online quarterfinals (8) under 18, (8) 18+
-
Up to 8 DJs compete in live semifinals (4) under 18, (4) 18+
-
Up to 4 DJs advance to finals (2) under 18, (2) 18+
-
Up to 2 bracket winners are crowned (1) under 18, (1) 18+

Submission Rules

All submissions must be Youtube video of the DJ performing
-
Audio-only submissions are not permitted
-
Minimum length: 6 minutes
-
Maximum length: 10 minutes
-
Submission links are accepted
-
Full video files are required for preliminaries
-
Accepted formats: MP4 (preferred), MOV
-
Preliminary submissions may be reused
-
Quarterfinal and Semifinal submissions must be new
-
All deadlines are strictly enforced

Visibility & Performance Requirements

Videos must clearly show:

The DJ controller or mixer
-
The DJ’s face
-
The DJ’s hands actively performing

Additional requirements:

Performances must be continuous with no jump cuts
-
Pre-recorded audio layered over staged visuals is strictly prohibited

Music & Content Guidelines
-
DJs may use any commercially released tracks
-
Competitors may perform live mashups and transitions of their own creation
-
Mashups created by others are permitted only if they combine exactly two songs.
-
Each track may contain no more than one pre-mixed transition.
-
Pre-mixed tracks or edits that combine more than two songs are not permitted.

What is ImmersiBeats?
ImmersiBeats is a multi-round DJ competition and community fundraiser presented by the Bill Carroll Foundation. It combines online DJ submissions, public voting, and a live semifinal/final event—all in support of music inclusion and accessibility initiatives, including the ImmersiVest.
What is the purpose of the event?
ImmersiBeats raises funds to support the Foundation’s mission of educating, empowering, and guiding musicians and DJ's—including individuals with disabilities and veterans—while creating a platform for these competing DJs of all skill levels to showcase their talent.
All registered DJ's will have an opportunity in experiencing one or more of our programs specifically designed for DJ's including, DJ classes, being a DJ on our internet-based radio station, being represented by our Record Label which includes management and a shot at being on a terrestrial radio station on a special mix show called Bill Carroll's Saturday Night Dance Party on B101.5 FM.
Is this a charity event?
Yes. ImmersiBeats is a charitable fundraising event, and proceeds support programs and accessibility initiatives operated by the Bill Carroll Foundation.
